This book is a profoundly valuable guide to conquering procrastination and making sound decisions. It is equally applicable to one's personal life or career. I garnered more insights, ideas, and courage savoring it one afternoon than in a month of high-powered seminars. Lynn Lively is cofounder of an award winning high tech firm prominent in foreign markets, a professional speaker, colleague, and close friend. She writes from hard won practical experience and from the feedback of her audiences in the past decade. The first third of the book deals with procrastination. What it is: you know what to do, but don't do it. What it is not: you don't know what to do (this is called thinking!). She effectively deals with the many barriers to action, invokes pictures of success, and gives a six-point checklist for overcoming the final inertia against action. Her many "confessions of a procrastinator" strike home. The meat of the book presents her 7-step RESOLVE It! decision-making system, which is thorough, thoughtful, and practical:
Each of these steps is itself a mini-seminar. Throughout, Lynn nudges you in the direction of clarity and creative thinking. Visually attractive, the book is a delight to read. Lynn's writing is crisp, clear, and lively. She draws you along with fluid prose peppered with tips, confessions, anecdotes, and suggestions you can apply immediately. Her tone is conversational, to which I can truly attest, having had hundreds of conversations with her over the years. The book's three page preface is great, itself worth the price of the book! Raise the probability of success in your life by investing in this book. For convenience, you may order this book from: amazon.com Borders Barnes & Noble
